Painting, Drawing, and The Expanded
Katy Lucas explores the landscape through geology and caving, drawing from sound, haptic exploration, torchlight, trace, materiality and geological time. While the experience of being within the cave deeply influences her work, she is interested in embodying the landscapes material processes through painting and drawing. Through the exploration of natural and anthropogenic sites, she is developing a cross-disciplinary language explored through expanded definitions of painting, drawing, and digital translation.
